Havana, (ACN).- A memorandum for exchanges and cooperation between the culture ministries of Cuba and Peru was signed on Wednesday in this capital. The document was penned by the Deputy Ministers of this sector from the two nations, the agreement will favor the strengthening of relations between the two countries, referred to literary publications, technical and academic cooperation between artistic teaching centers, and the promotion of audiovisuals.

The accord will also include joint work on topics like conservation, restoration and preservation of cultural heritage, and the exchange of artists and specialists in this field.

Cuban Deputy Culture Minister Fernando Rojas highlighted the intense work program carried out along with his Peruvian counterpart, Clemente Vicente Otta, which included visits to the National Museum of Fine Arts and Havana’s Casa de las Americas cultural institution, in addition to a culture center and an arts school.

Otta considered that the speed with which agreements were reached shows, above all, the political will of the two countries to strengthen cooperation bonds, and stated that his government acknowledges Cuba’s role in the implementation of policies aimed at deepening social justice.

The signing of this agreement tales place within the context of the visit to the island of a delegation headed by Marisol Espinoza, First Vice-president of the Republic of Peru, with the purpose of strengthening bilateral cooperation in health, education, sports and culture.
