Havana, (PL). Oct 8, 2011. The Mexican people are very open to every Cuban proposal, she said, it is among the countries where we are received with great affection. We go there every year, said the singer of one of the most emblematic groups of the Cuban contemporary music.

The welcome of the Mexican public to the Cuban group Sintesis, during the recently held Afro Caribbean Festival of Veracruz, answered our expectations, said to Prensa Latina the singer of that group Ele Valdes.

We know them since 1980 and even though we emphasize in our songs in Spanish language, we always offer them Afro Cuban rhythm, but didactically.

The Mexican Afro Caribbean Festival was born in 1994 following an initiative of the National Council of Culture and Arts, with the main objective of promoting the integration and racial, social and cultural diversity in the Caribbean.

This 2011 event was dedicated to the International Year of the Afro Descendents, declared by the General Assembly of the United Nations in its 64 session.

Regarding the project of Sintesis, Valdes announced during her statement made to Prensa Latina, the celebration of a concert on the 10th and 11 of December in the Havana Mella Theatre, in honor of the 35 years of the group.

This time, she added, we will have on the stage important figures who have been very closet o our career, such as Silvio Rodríguez, Omara Portuondo and Amaury Pérez among many others.

She also said that they will offer the CD Traigo para dar, produced by EGREM, which includes nine themes, among whcih are: Sin ti no soy, Como si nada, Alaroyye (yoruba song), Niños de la calle, Hoy no te quejes and Los cantares no se inventan.

Sintesis was created in 1976 and since 1979 has been directed by Carlos Alfonso. They have a unique style as part of the Cuban popular music, including jazz, rock, Cuban and international rhythms and fusion them with African Yoruba songs.

Different European and United States stages have shared their music in different international festivals, such as the Nice Jazz Festival, Jazz a Vienne, Montreux Jazz Festival and Los Angeles African Market Place.
