Vietnamese Training Seminar for Local Rice Harvesters Concluded in Pinar del RíoPinar del Río, Cuba.The Vietnamese training seminar will be also carried out in other municipalities in Pinar del Río and Mantua, Besides, it will last until the year 2015 according to the Cuban development program devised to increase the levels of rice yield.The aforementioned training began in September 19th in the Experimental Rice station in Los Palacios where is located one of the most important rice cultivation complex of the nation. 

The training seminar, which Vietnamese experts gave to Cuban rice famers from Pinar del Río and Artemisa provinces, concluded with a better preparation of the local harvesters in order to increase their levels of efficiency and yield.

After some days of conferences, workshops, practice lessons as well as the usage of the Vietnamese technology in rice crops from Los Palacios municipality, the training seminar that was attended by workers, scientists and farmers from the above mentioned regions concluded.

According to members of the organizing committee, the experiments, which were carried out in the farm of local farmer Jesús Roberto Miranda Pérez, used the Vietnamese technology to yield transplanted rice. Moreover, it enabled harvester Jesús Roberto to have a fertile and symmetric sown field with more than 18 plants of this kind.

The farm belongs to the Abel Santa María Credit and Service Cooperative of in Los Palacios municipality where new methods of cultivation, fertilization and other aspects related to this type of crops were applied.

The Vietnamese training seminar will be also carried out in other municipalities in Pinar del Río and Mantua, Besides, it will last until the year 2015 according to the Cuban development program devised to increase the levels of rice yield.

The aforementioned training began in September 19th in the Experimental Rice station in Los Palacios where is located one of the most important rice cultivation complex of the nation.

Engineer Guillermo Díaz, who is one of the organizers of the seminar, highlighted that the Vietnamese training was not utterly focus on the detailed Asian technology as such; on the contrary, its idea was about to assimilate what might be useful for the conditions of Cuba and it urged the local rice harvesters to increase their knowledge on the matter, as well as their constancy and determination in order to obtain future great results as those currently reached by the Asian nation.
