Cuban film Ticket to Paradise in Spain at the end of October

Based on the book Confesiones a un medico (Confessions to a Physician) by Dr. Jorge Perez, the film was chosen by the Cuban Film Institute to represent the island in the candidacy to the Goya prizes, given by the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain.At present, the movie competes in the official selection of Latin America, in Biarritz, France.
The Cuban film Boleto al paraiso (Ticket to Paradise), by Gerardo Chijona, will be screened at the end of October in movie theaters of the main Spanish cities, as part of its successful international tour.
In a press conference at the Cuban Film Institute (ICAIC) in this capital on Friday, Chijona announced that his film will be shown in a circuit that includes movie theaters in Madrid, Valencia, Barcelona and Bilbao, among other important cities.
He referred to the presence of “Boleto al paraiso” in renowned festivals: its screening in the official selection of the Sundance competition, in the United States, and the prize to Best Film at the Malaga event, where it competed in the section Latin American Territory.
