By: Dayami Interián García. Panama, Oct 1 (Prensa Latina) Cuba, the country with the largest amount of wins ever in the history of world baseball cups, will make its debut Sunday at the 39th World Baseball Cup Panama-2011, setting sights on its 26th victory.

The last time Cuba won a tournament of this kind was in 2005, giving in to the United States in 2007 and 2009.

The Cuban team records a series of world titles that started in 1984 onto 2005. Since 1998, when professional players were included in the teams of many countries, Cuba won four of the six games possible. The defeats were in front of the United States, when Cuba was placed second.

Apart from Cuba and USA, the other countries that have won the Baseball World Cup at least once are Venezuela, Colombia, South Korea, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.

The 39th Baseball World Cup will be held October 1-15 in four Panamanian stadiums.
