By: Estela McCollin. Madrid, Sep 25 (Prensa Latina) Autentica Cuba Caravan, an initiative of Cuba''s Tourism Ministry (MINTUR) to expose its recreation industry products, will tour several cities of Spain and Portugal from Sept. 26th, starting in Bilbao, north of the Basque Country.

The promotion will also cover Pamplona, Zaragoza, Madrid and Salamanca, then Coimbra and Oporto in Portugal, to end Oct. 5th in La Coruna, Galicia.

Cuba ranks third among Caribbean tourist destinations. A yearly average of more than two million tourists have visited Cuba over the past seven years in spite of the US lengthy and ruthless economic blockade that limits free access to the vast world tourism market.

This MINTUR campaign through its offices in Spain and Portugal involves numerous hotel and travel agents, tour operators and air lines.

The hotel chains Iberostar, Sandals, Melia, Barcelo and Hotels C and Sirenis; the air lines Air Europa, Iberia and Cubana de Aviacion; plus several operators will feature together the presentations and other events during the tour.

On October 6th the Caravan will travel to Palma de Mallorca, the Balearic Islands, where Air Europa (second largest airline after Iberia) will make a presentation as well, while MINTUR will promote its offers and season highlights and strengthen relations with such strategic partners to expand its smokeless industry, says the announcement.
