Cuban musician values nominations to 2011 Latino Grammys

24 de Septiembre 2011. Havana, (PL). – The Gentleman of the Son, Adalberto Alvarez, showed here his satisfaction for the nomination to the 2011 Latin Grammy Award with his CD El son de altura, in the category, Best Traditional Tropical Record.

When our work is recognized in this kind of international event, it always changes your life for better. It is as a door that opens to us in the musical world, said the pianist, composer and arranger.

The record of the Adalberto Alvarez y su son, made by Bis Music seal, has 10 themes, among them Linda santiaguera, La falta de ortografía, Vete, El melón, Quien será mi amor and Bailando en La Tropical.

Omara Portuondo, the Bride of Feeling, is also nominated for the CD Cantar y reir, in the category Best Record for Children. She repeated her emotion for the quality and transcendence of the Cuban music.

Cuba is also represented by Septeto Santiaguero, with the record Oye mi son santiaguero.

As well as a satisfaction for BisMusic, the nomination of our productions reminds us the tenth anniversary of La Rumba soy yo, the first award received by Cuba in this event, said Ela Ramos, General Director of the Record Company.

This record, added, was recognized as Best Folklore Record. Among its 15 themes are UnviolínparaChano, Santa Cecilia, Lengua de Obbara, Soy la rumba andMi Magdalena.
