By: Heidy Morin Rueda.September 18 2011. Cuba: Seaside Resort Celebrates 2 Million Tourists in Cuba.Ciego de Avila, Cuba, Sep 17 (Prensa Latina) With a flight from Canada, the Jardines del Rey tourist resort celebrated the arrival in Cuba of two million foreign visitors to date this year.

The Hotel Tryp Club Cayo Coco welcomed 110 visitors from Toronto who came to this resort on the northern coast of central Cuba to enjoy nature.

Luis Baez, sales representative of the tourist company in Ciego de Avila, said to Prensa Latina that Jardines del Rey received about eight percent of all visitors to Cuba.

The WestJet flight, operated by WestJet Vacations, that arrived at the Cayo Coco international airport brought Canadian William Brown, who said he was attracted by Cuban's human warmth, weather, peace and tranquility.

"I have traveled to the island 50 times, because it is a very nice place, the hotel staff treats me very well and I feel at home, plus the beaches and nature are amazing," Brown said to Prensa Latina.

This is the eighth time Cuba has welcomed two million tourists, and this year it did so one month earlier than it did last year, demonstrating the growth and development of the industry.

Jardines del Rey, one of the eight leading tourist destinations in the Cuban archipelago, has about 4,200 rooms in 13 four- and five-star star hotels on the beach, operated under the all-inclusive system.
