Cuba Announces Team for Upcoming World Boxing ChampionshipHAVANA, Cuba.-  Reigning world champion Rosniel Iglesias (64 kg) leads the Cuban squad that will participate in the upcoming World Boxing Championship, scheduled to begin on September 26 in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.

Accompanying Iglesias will be Olympic silver medalists Carlos Banteur (69 kg) and Emilio Correa (75 kg), as well as world junior champions Robeisis Ramirez (52 kg) and Erislandy Savon (+91 kg).

The list is completed by Yosvany Veitia (49 kg), Lazaro Alvarez (56 kg), Yasniel Toledo (60 kg), Julio Cesar La Cruz (81 kg) and Jose Angel Larduet (91 kg).

In the previous world event, Cuba finished with only four medals: the title won by Iglesias, a silver won by Osmay Acosta in 91 kilos, and two bronze medals won by Yankiel Leon (54 kg) and Larduet (81 kg).(ACN)
