Jorge Luis Jimenez, business manager with the Tourism Ministry office in the province, told ACN that over 90 percent of these visitors enjoyed that territory’s northern cays, with a hotel capacity of over 3,000 rooms.

He highlighted that the main countries sending tourists to Villa Clara are Canada and the United Kingdom, and that the increase in the number of tourists is in keeping with the improvement of air services towards the Caribbean island.

The official added that arrivals increased particularly at the Abel Santamaria International Airport of this locality, by way of airlines established in Europe and in North and South America.

According to the National Office of Statistics, there’s a systematic annual growth in the arrival of people of various nationalities to Villa Clara.

As compared to 2005, there 123,000 more arrivals in this territory the previous year. (ACN)
