According to Savigne, who was also world champion in Japan-2007, the struggle for the gold will be hard, because her rivals have also trained well to fight for the title.

Savigne recorded the best result in the qualifying round with 14.62 meter jump, among 34 participants in the start of the triple jump competition, that only required a minimum mark of 14.45 mts, or placing at least among the top-12 to qualify.

Savigne's most outstanding contenders include Colombian Caterine Ibarguen, who also recorded along Savigne the season best result (14.99 mts), Ukranian Olha Saladuha (14.98 mts), Kazakhstani Olga Rypakova (14.96 mts), and her fellow country woman Mabel Gay (14.65 mts).
