The cultural tourism program Rutas y Andares para descubrir en familia, came to an end Saturday, with a concert by Cuban singer-songwriter Polito Ibáñez at the Basílica Menor y Convento de San Francisco de Asís. Attending the closing ceremony was Historian of Havana Eusebio Leal Spengler.

In his keynote speech, Eusebio Leal thanked and congratulated the families and children, the future generations of Cuban historians, archaeologists and architects, for having been part of the initiative.

Created in 2000 with the Office of the Historian of Havana (OH) sponsorship, The Rutas y Andares summer initiative encourages holidaymakers to learn more about the history of Havana through family visit to museums and places of historical
and cultural interest.

Katia Cárdenas, overseeing the project, commended the enthusiasm of the Cuban families participating in the project, saying that the Ruta de los Minerales guided tour was among the most popular this year.
