Cuban Film Habanastation Premieres in Miami

By: Ileana Ferrer Fonte.Havana, Aug 30 (Prensa Latina) Cuban film director Ian Padron will present on Tuesday in Miami his first work Habanastation, which won the Founders prize Best of Fest in the category of Founders awards in the Traverse City Festival, held in Michigan.
Padron will attend a one-time screening of the film at the Artime Theater, with a capacity for 850 people, accompanied by Cuban actress Blanca Rosa Blanco, one of the stars of Habanastation, and scriptwriter Felipe Espinet.
Habanastation was screened outside Cuba on July 28 at the Lars Hockstand Auditorium during the International Transverse Film Festival, founded by U.S. movie maker Michael Moore, and was acclaimed with a standing ovation by 750 U.S. cinemagoers.
With children Andy Fornaris and Ernesto Escalona as its two co-stars, the film tells the story of two boys, Mayito and Carlos, two classmates from different social backgrounds who are dazzled by the world of video games.
In one and a half hour, Padron takes the audience on a journey to two Havanas inside the same Cuba, to highlight how two children from different family background engage in a profound friendship.
