By: Estela McCollin. 10:12Havana, Aug 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban renowned danseur Carlos Acosta whom the National Council of Fine Arts of Cuba honored with the National Dance Award 2011, said his career will continue as there is always a fresh start in many ways.

A ballerino, an artist, like me, will not limit himself only to dance; he will focuss on other ventures such as choreography, Acosta, the youngest artist to be bestowed this award, told the Cuban television ahead of receiving the prestigious distinction.

"Awards and careers should not be measured for the artist' age, but for what you're doing, for your life achievements," because the youth "must be listened to and be given strength and motivation to preserve all what we have been able to accomplish," he added.

He announced that in December he will do a tour of another five Cuban provinces, where he will present the show "Cycles", a program he was unable to do before due to working reasons.

At the peak of his career, the Cuban dancer, 38, said he is pleased to give his art to the people who never saw him before, as he did on his previous tour of five Cuban provinces with the same project.

Trained in the ranks of the National Ballet of Cuba, Carlos Acosta boats solid work with foreign companies in Italy, Chile, Venezuela, the US and more steadily as special guest of the Royal Ballet of London.

His many laurels include the Gold Medal at the Grand Prix of Lausanne, Switzerland Prince Grace Foundation Laurel to the Young Artists (the US); the Frédéric François Chopin of the Corporation of Polish Artists; Osimodanza (Italy); and the Grand Prix of Cuba's Union of Writers and Artists.
