2011.08.25 - 11:19:39 / radiorebelde.icrt.cu / Camagüey, Cuba.-  The exhibition displayed by Cuban artist Jorge Luis Santana concluded successfully at the Arts Institute in Pittsburg in the United States.

The exhibition includes a group of ideas and current projects that Santana has carried out during his artistic career through the display of 25 works in which there are sculptures, paintings, photographs and video arts.

Jorge Luis Santana, who has concluded a cycle of creation for over 20 years, gives a great importance to the creative process, final selection and the multiple solutions that allow not only to familiarizing and researching with the work but also to establish links with other materials and techniques which are often not used during the daily artistic practice.

Kicking off the upcoming weekend, the exhibition by this artist from Camagüey will be displayed in the U.S. city of Madison. Besides, there will also be presentations of other materials that are part of the International Video Arte festival that has been held during three years in Camagüey.

Jorge Luis Santana, founder and President of the International Video Arte Festival (FIVAC) in Camagüey, is promoting the call for the 2011 cultural event as well as the presentation of the above mentioned festival to be held in Camaguey province in Cuba.

The 4th International Video Arte festival is scheduled to run from November 25th through the 29th in Camagüey. The festival will include the possibility to present new works in video art format as well as the promotion of new and experienced artists taking into account that national and foreign artists may participate regardless of age or sex.

The organizing committee announces in its call that: “ if our festival is of your interest, if you are an independent artist, gallery owner, representative of an institution, curator or theorist of arts, it will be a pleasure for us your participation.

Therefore, we are inviting you to make your proposal for the upcoming fourth festival. The closing date to receive the works is the August 31st of the current year 2011.”
