2011.08.22 - 09:59:46 /radiorebelde.icrt.cu/ Chivilcoy, Argentina.-  The Cuban under 19 Volleyball team, Cadet category, maintained its winning streak internationally last year and during the current year when it recently defeated its Argentinean opponents 3-2 at the Colón Club facility before a public supporting their local players.

The Cuban cadet Volleyball squad won the 2010 NORCECA tournament and later the first Olympic Games held in Singapore during a final gold-medal match against a similar Argentinean team 1-3. Moreover, the Cuban squad obtained the gold medal at the 4th ALBA Games before two elite teams from Venezuela and now the Cuban team has excelled in the Ciudad de Chivilcoy tournament that had the participation of Spain that finished second, and France that ended in the fourth place.

Just some 72 hours of the beginning of under 19 World championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Cuban athletes coached by Rodolfo Sánchez beat once again the local Argentinean squad with a final result of 25-17, 18-25, 20-25,25-18 and 15-12 per set.

Yordan Bisset was the best scorer for Cuba with 21 points, 15 of them scored in attacks, 2 ones scored in blocks and 4 ones through serves. Lázaro Fundora, on his part, was the best second scorer with 12 points and Nelsón Loyala was the best third scored with 10 points in that order.

The Cuban team, which traveled to Buenos Aires on Friday to face off France at the World Volleyball Championship, is competing against Brazil today Saturday afternoon and will be facing off its similar from South Korea in the group C of the competition.

The rest of the groups in competition are formed by Argentina, the United States, Egypt and Bulgaria in the group A, while teams from Russia, Tunes, China and Greece are part of the group B and Iran and Serbia, Puerto Rico and Spain are in group D, respectively.
