ANSWER: Headwater (01606 720199, www.headwater.com) is offering a new Cuba Uncovered guided walking tour with six departures from January to May next year.

Exploring Cuba's western half, Headwater says it gives insights into the country's unique history, politics, culture and natural charms.

'The ten-day tour bypasses the traditional tourist coastal resorts to concentrate on the island's atmospheric towns, five Unesco heritage sites and lesser-known rural hideaways. The walks are as varied as the country itself, ranging from about four miles to about eight and combining city tours with trails through forests, pineapple plantations and mangroves,' says the firm.

Frank You will stay in a four-star eco-hotel in Las Terrazas, within a biosphere reserve, and a five-star hotel in the heart of Havana with panoramic rooftop views over the city. There's also a five-star classic three-storey mansion in the town of Trinidad that's one of Cuba's most luxurious hotels.

Prices for the guided hotel-to-hotel walking holiday start at £2,468 per person, including Iberia flights between Heathrow and Havana, transfers, nine nights' B&B accommodation, most meals, the transfer of bags between hotels and the services of an experienced local leader.
