The donation includes leopards, lions, wolves, cats, ostriches, antelopes, elephants and rhinoceroses, said Santos Cubillas, an expert at the zoo, located in the outskirts of Havana.

Erika Akuenje, permanent secretary of the Namibian Ministry of Environment and Tourism, told Cuban television that hygiene standards would be met to ensure that no diseases were brought into the country.

Akuenje met with Commander of the Revolution Guillermo Garcia, director of the National Enterprise for the Protection of Flora and Fauna, to study the national and hygiene conditions required by the donation.
