Cuba’s National Ballet Company (BNC), after a successful tour of the United States, is getting ready for new presentations in Cuba and abroad.

In a press conference, Alicia Alonso, its general director, expressed her satisfaction for her troupe’s presentations in Washington, New York and California, the Cubarte web site reported.

According to the source, the company –considered to be one of the best in the world- will dance in Brazil and Spain.

The ballerina assoluta announced that from July 17th through the 31st it will premiere in Brazil the piece La leyenda del agua grande, a choreography by Eduardo Blanco.

This ballet is based on the Guarani history of the Iguazu waterfall and it will be presented in Brasilia, San Salvador de Bahia and Sao Pablo.

Also scheduled for July are performances at Havana’s Grand Theater, with Cinderella, while in August the company will tour several of the country’s provinces, where it will interpret ballets like Threshold, Pretexts and The Magic Flute, all of them choreographed by Alicia Alonso.
