2011.07.12 - 08:28:44 / radiorebelde.icrt.cu. La Habana, Cuba.- Cuban Parliament President Ricardo Alarcon ratified on Monday  Cuba’s support for the continuous struggle of Puerto Rican patriots in the name of its decolonization and total independence.

At the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp of Artemisa province, the top official expressed his conviction that Puerto Ricans will achieve their sovereignty if they continue the struggle in all spheres.

While speaking during the ceremony to welcome the Puerto Rican Juan Rius Rivera Brigade, Alarcon stressed that the neighboring Caribbean island has the legitimate right to be free, in spite of the fact that, for years, the United States has made the world believe that it doesn’t oppose Puerto Rico’s independence but that its citizens are the ones who don’t make up their minds because they don’t know what they want and they like to be subjugated.

The President of the National Assembly thanked the 130 members of the visiting group for their demonstrations of love towards Cuba.

The final declaration of the second Puerto Rico-Cuba meeting of solidarity, which condemned the US blockade of Cuba, was read as part of the program of the 20th Juan Rius Rivera Contingent, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Bay of Pigs victory.

Likewise, the Puerto Ricans expressed their inalienable right to travel freely and demonstrate their friendship with the Cuban people. (ACN)
