July 9, 2011. The first commercial trailer for Juan of the Dead, the upcoming first ever zombie movie from Cuba, has hit our shores.

Juan is a typical forty year old slacker. As the zombie population begins to build in Havana, Cuba’s Communist government tries to developments on U.S. backed dissidents.  Juan devises an enterprising way to cope with the overflow of the undead. He decides to become a zombie-killing mercenary, putting people’s loved ones out of their misery for cash.

When the outbreak loses control, most Cubans try to flee by sea, but Juan is forced to drop his self-centered ways and take back his country, one improvised zombie kill at a time.

Juan of the Dead is a joint production between Spain, Mexico, and Cuba.
