The 8th International Convention on Environment and Development will be held July 4-8 in Cuba with experts from Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Argentina, Spain, Norway, United States and Ecuador.

Cuban experts will present the results of various projects and research and will exchange their experiences and ideas with experts from other countries in the event, to be held at the Havana International Conference Center.

The agenda includes meetings on climate change, environmental education, protected areas, ecosystem management and biodiversity and environmental rights, according to the organizing committee.

This year, the event includes 5 congresses and 3 colloquiums on environmental rights, environmental management, and hazard, vulnerability and risk assessment, as well as an exhibition fair, where institutions and agencies will present new technology, projects and experiences.

Prominent figures such as Ahmed Djoghlaf, executive secretary of the Convention on Biological Diversity, and Luc Gnacadja, executive secretary of the UN Convention to Combat Desertification, will speak at the convention opening.

A large group of government environmental officials, academics and researchers from various countries will be present.
