2011.06.30 - 19:04:44 / radiorebelde.icrt.cu. Havana, Cuba. - Olympic champion Dayron Robles won the 110 meter hurdles event when he stopped the clocks at 13.12 seconds in the Athletissima meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Robles, world record holder with 12.87, finished 4 hundredths of a second ahead of Jamaican Dwight Thomas and 5 of American Jason Richardson, in this Diamond league event, though he didn’t receive points for his performance.

Once again the Olympic champion had to see the backs of his opponents at the start when his reaction time was the fifth slowest of the eight participants. The start has been a recurring problem in the Cuban’s career.

British Andrew Turner finished fourth with his personal best at 13.22.

In the same event Cuban discos thrower Yarelis Barrios, second place in Beijing 2008 and Berlin 2009, won the gold and six points with a 64.29 meter shot.(ACN)
