2011.06.29 - 14:20:47 / radiorebelde.icrt.cu / Havana, Cuba. - Arnica is used in decoctions, maceration or poultices, to relieve rheumatic pains. It is not administered orally, nasally or through the rectum, but in a topical or external way.

Way of preparation: Boil a few tender branches in two liters of water over a low flame for 30 minutes. Then apply fomentations or poultices in the areas affected by rheumatism.

Another option consists of preparing eau-de-vie macerations, by pouring two cups of finely chopped arnica leaves and a bottle of eau-de-vie into a bowl. It is left to rest and after 2-3 hours, it can be used in frictions, applied twice a day.

In the event of lymphangitis, use arnica ointment or cream. It is available in our pharmacies, where it is prepared.  By: Cecilio Curbelo and Translated by: Pedro A. Fanego Sea
