HAVANA, Cuba, Jun 24 (acn) The first 23 Chinese students from the University of International Studies of the University of Xian, in the province of Shaanxi,will graduate on June 28 in Spanish Language, as a result of Cuban-Chinese cooperation.

These students spent four out of five years in Cuba studying this major and the fifth year in China with Cuban professors.

According to Prensa Latina news agency, another 108 Chinese will graduate in the Aula Magna of the University of Havana, as part of cooperation programs initiated in 2006.

Gustavo Cobreiro Suarez, who traveled to China to participate in the graduation ceremony of those 23 students, noted that this is one of the six majors included in the cooperation programs between these two countries.

The rest are: Tourism, Pedagogy for Humanities, Psychology, Medicine and Nursing. These comprise intensive courses on the Spanish language that last one year.

Cobreiro said that more than 3,500 Chinese students have benefited from these cooperation programs.

During his stay in China he met with the President of the Beijing Language and Culture University, Ph.D. Cui Xiliang; and the general director of International Cooperation and Exchange from the Chinese Ministry of Education, Ph.D. Zhang
Xiuqin.

Both parts agreed on reviewing cooperation actions so as to strengthen them based on new aspects of joint scientific work.

Similar meetings were held in the University of Beijing, and will be held in the University of Xian, and the University of International Studies of Sichuan, as part of a program that will come to an end with visits though several higher
institutions in Shanghais.
