2011.06.27 - 14:39:45 / radiorebelde.icrt.cu. HAVANA, CUBA.-  Cuban Henry Bell leads the spikers in the XXII World Volleyball League with only a pair of matches to go, with over 56 percent of success in his attacks.

Bell is followed in this department by Russian Denis Biriukov and his team-mate Wilfredo Leon. He and Leon are tied in the third position among the event’s best scorers, with 167 points.

The Cuban player has accumulated 142 spikes, with 18 blocks and seven aces, while Leon has 150, 7 and 10 respectively.

Other Cubans with outstanding performances are libero Keibel Gutierrez (seventh as libero and tenth among receivers) and Yoandri Diaz in the fourteenth positions among setters.

Cuba is the best second second in the League with 20 points, after seven wins and three losses in group D, trailing Italy (25 points, 9 wins and a loss).

Brazil leads group A, followed by Poland, who will be in the finals since it’s is the host country. Argentina, with 22 points, commands group C ahead of Serbia and Russia does the same in group B followed by Bulgaria.

The finals will be held in Poland and will include the 4 leaders and the three best second teams and the host country.
