By: Claudia Gomez. 16 de junio de 2011, 13:35. Tegucigalpa, June 16 (Prensa Latina) Former Honduran President Manuel Zelaya said a court order to arrest a former member of his cabinet was a violation of the Cartagena agreement.

After learning of the decision of bringing corruption charges against his former minister of the presidency, Enrique Flores Lanza, Zelaya said that he demanded that the Porfirio Lobo government "stop and resolve this latest escalation of persecution."

He also said that this latest act of injustice breaks with what was agreed upon in Colombia, where Lobo offered a safe return to Honduras for the ex-president and his former cabinet ministers, overthrown in a coup on June 28, 2009.

Zelaya also alerted the international community to this violation of the Agreement for National Reconciliation and Consolidation of the Democratic System, signed in Cartagena with Venezuela and Colombia as mediators.

The agreement considers also stipulates recognition of the National Front of Popular Resistance (FNRP) as a political force, respect for human rights and the convening of a Constituent National Assembly.

After a tour of the Atlantic coast this weekend, Zelaya reaffirmed the determination of the FNRP to continue the fight for a constituent assembly.
