Mexico, Jun 14.- The traditional caravan "Authentic Cuba" began its journey through the cities of Monterrey, Guadalajara, Leon, Toluca and Mexico City as part of a promotional strategy of the Ministry of Tourism of Cuba. (MINTUR).

The director of MINTUR office in Mexico, Alicia Perez, told reporters that at the close of last year 66,700 Mexicans visited the island, while the authorities of both countries are working to achieve the desired goal of 100,000 tourists in 2012.

In order to achieve this target, promotional activities as the Caravan take place. This one is an exchange between tour operators and airlines to promote Cuba as a destination and its offers for the summer and winter seasons.

Perez said that several events in the sector have been planned for November here and Cuba will participate, for example, in the International Cultural Tourism Fair in Morelia, Michoacan.
