In the final session of the Fifth International Meeting on Rice and the First Symposium on Grains, Rodobaldo Ortiz, with the Cuban Institute of Agricultural Sciences, will speak about the development of soy crops in Cuba over the last decade.

Director of the Cuban Institute of Grain Research, Telce Gonzalez will talk about the relation between research and production.

Participants will also hear about Uruguay’s experience in rice quality and will discuss aspects about grain harvest and post-harvest and will take part in a workshop about pesticides.

On the previous session, discussions focused on the comprehensive management of pests, and technologies for small-scale production.

The meeting is attended by specialists from Brazil, Colombia, United States, Spain, Cuba, Mexico, Panama, Venezuela, Guatemala, Switzerland, the host countries and other nations.(ACN)
