Camagüey, Cuba, June 10 - The Second National Seminar on Economy and Local Management, brings together specialists from across Cuba who are holding the meeting in Camagüey to exchange experiences and initiatives on the start-up of projects for the territorial development.

According to Luis Orlando Nápoles Arrieta, sitting chairman of the National Association of Cuban Economists of Cuba (ANEC) in Camagüey, the seminar is particularly important because it takes place amid an updating process of the socio-economic model in Cuba, in which self-supply and attaining sustainable results is crucial for each community.

During the two-day meeting, more than 30 papers on public administration, the appraisal of policies and local projects, the environment-related problems and the different systems for the management of information will be presented.

This implies that theory and practice should go hand in hand in this event in order to promote of the development of different territories in the country, which sometimes have secure funding but have no viable projects.

The Second National Seminar on Economy and Local Management falls within the activities marking the 32nd anniversary of the setting up of the National Association of Economists and Accountants of Cuba (ANEC), to be observed on June 14th. (Radio Cadena Agramontel)
