Havana, Cuba, Jun 10.- The 2007 and 2009 women’s Triple Jump World champion Yargelis Savigne won the gold medal during the fifth meeting of the 2011 Diamond League of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) that took place on Thursday in Oslo, Norway.

Thus, Savigne remains undefeated in the Diamond League this year as she also won in her debut during the second stage of the contest in Shanghai, China, last month.

In Oslo, Savigne topped the standings with a 14.81m leap thus relegating Ukrainian Olha Saladuha (14.71) and also Cuban Mabel Gay (14.31) to the second and third spots, respectively.

After these results, Savigne leads the women’s Triple Jump event of the Diamond League with eight points, followed by Saladuha, who has six.

Other winners on Thursday were Estonian Gerd Kanter (men’s Discus Throw-65.14m), New Zealand’s Valerie Adams (women’s Shot Put-20.26m), Brazilian Fabiana Murer (women’s Pole Vault-4.60m), and Bulgarian Ivet Lalova (women’s 100m-11.01s). (acn)
