Lizt accepted the request of Cuba’s ambassador to that nation, Armando Vergara, of carrying out an additional presentation for Cubans working in Qatar, who will be joined by youngsters from the University of Doha.

Company sources told ACN that this is the second time it dances in that country of the Middle East.

In 2010, the group represented Cuba in Qatar, as the capital of Arab Culture, with its piece Fuerza y Compas.

From June 14th through the 19th, the troupe, composed of women, will dance at the Garcia Lorca Hall of Havana’s Grand Theater.

The Lizt Alfonso Ballet Company was created by its director and choreographer on October, 1991, at the Dance Promotion Center of Cuba, under the name of Iberian Dances.

It declared itself an independent company in October, 1992, and assumed its present name, and in 2000 joined Havana’s Grand Theater as resident group.

Its main objective is to offer art lovers enjoyable and dynamic shows, based on the combination of the rich dances making up Spanish and Cuban folklore, mixed with the most modern tendencies of choreographic, musical and theater composition.
