5 de Junio 2011. Preceded by the unanimous recognition in different countries, the winner of prizes and distinctions for the quality of his work, a must be presence in every respectful Cuban contemporary art space, the work by Roberto Fabelo reached the Contemporary Art Museum from Panama, with the exhibition Naturaleza casi viva casi muerta (Almost life almost dead nature), a set of oil paintings, paper and metal drawings in which the artists´ imagination shows once again his preoccupation for human beings, as he expresses metaphorically the impending threats that pend on the relationship man-nature, which is so precarious and dramatic in our times.

The exhibition, which will be open to the public until June 19, is made up by about twenty pieces. It has received a splendid welcome in the world of art and some repercussion in the media. Newspapers, radio, television and digital publications are all noting its presence through interviews, articles and press notes.

With the title of Grandeza y humildad, Roberto Fabelo (Greatness and humility, Roberto Fabelo), Ana M. Pinillas highlights in one of the interviews the presence of the artist for more than thirty years in the world of art, with exhibitions in galleries and institutions from more than seventeen countries. “You have to maintain a position of eternal curiosity in front of art and of life itself and to feel that everyday you may start a search,” expressed Fabelo, and as an answer to another one of the questions asked, he declared: “The events in Cuba during all these decades have marked much of what has been generated in creation, and the important thing is to preserve the high level of art and its capacity to contribute to human growth. That is a very noble cause.”

The year 2011 is one of constant activity for the Cuban painter, since apart from Naturaleza casi..., during the month of February he held an exhibition in the San Alejandro Academy together with the French painter and engraver Alain Friemmam. On that ocasion he showed drawings on the most different supports and an installation. In March, he also presented in he Fine Arts Museum a book that brings together his production during the years between 2002 and 2010.

This work includes the edition work and the words by the critic Caridad Blanco, an interview with Rafael Acosta and much photographic material to document the mark of the artist.
