By: Dayami Interián García.08:46.Havana, May 29 (Prensa Latina) Cuban President Raul Castro attended the act marking the 70th anniversary of Cuba's Council of Churches. During the act, the participants urged U.S. president Barack Obama to free the five Cuban anti-terrorists imprisoned in the United States, the local television news informed.

Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez, and Rene Gonzalez were locked in that country more than 12 years ago for warning on anti-Cuba terrorist attacks.

Oden Marichal, president of the Council, and Caridad Diego, head of the Cuban Communist Party's Office for Attention to Religious Affairs, spoke during the act, where the Council's work was praised.

Also present in the activity were Esteban Lazo, member of the Communist Party's Political Bureau, Havana City's historian Eusebio Leal, and other personalities.
