The Presidents of Cuba and Surinam held talks in Havana. Photo: Geovani FernandezCuban President Raul Castro held officials talks on Wednesday afternoon with the President of the Republic of Suriname, Desire Delano Bouterse, who is on an official visit to the island.

During the exchange, the two heads of state tackled the state of bilateral relations, reiterated their willingness to work for the strengthening of the bonds existing between the two countries, and spoke about several topics on the regional and international agendas.

Present in the meeting were the foreign ministers of the two nations, Winston Lackin and Bruno Rodriguez.
