2011-05-21 12:06. Johannesburg - A government delegation left for Cuba on Saturday to finalise a visa waiver agreement for officials and diplomats, the department of home affairs said.

"The finalisation of this agreement enabled holders of diplomatic and official passports to travel to the respective countries for a period of 90 days without visas," said spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa in a statement.

This would allow officials from Cuba and South Africa to conduct their business "speedily and efficiently".

The delegation was expected to return on May 30. - SAPA
