VietNamNet Bridge - Vietnamese grandmaster Le Quang Liem is leading the 46th Capablanca Memorial 2011, together with Navara David from the Czech Republic and Andreikin Dmitry from Russia.

Liem won all five matches in the first leg of the competition, which is taking place in Havana, Cuba from May 11-24.

The Vietnam’s No1 seed received resounding applaud from foreign experts who described Liem as a “rare phenomenon” from the East.

In the second leg on May 18, Liem played against Dominguez Perez, a rival from the host country, who is currently placed fifth on the list.

He is hopeful to win the champion title of Capablanca Memorial 2011.
