Exhibition on Science Progresses Opens in Havana

A sample with the main Cuban progresses in the fields of health, science and environment opened Friday in EXPOCUBA exhibition site.

Protecting the environment together with increasing the production of food, goods and material services is necessary for the development of the society, said the Vice Minister of Science, Technology and Environment (CITMA) Lina Dominguez.

Materials used for building houses and the medicine Heberprot-P for the treatment of the diabetic foot are among the products shown in EXPOCUBA, as well as the vaccine used for treating lung cancer patients in estado avanzado, told Prensa Latina Miguel Lopez, chief of the stand of the CITMA.

Cuban achievements regarding renewable energy are also included in the exhibition. in this regard the Italian Enrico Turrini, specialist of solar energy development, said natural source as the solar energy, wind or water are an alternative.

Turrini said that Cuba could devepoled even more the use of solar energy, wind power and the biomass.
