Malnar is attending the International Seminar on Agriculture underway at Havana’s Convention Palace.

The American scientist said exchange between US and Cuban universities should increase.

Malnar noted that the extensive introduction of results in this field is vital and said to be amazed by the communication in Cuba between producers and scientists in the implementation of technologies.

Likewise, Brenda Ortiz, also a professor with the University of Auburn, praised the participation of Cuban women in agricultural activities and noted that there is a lot to learn from Cuban professionals.

Ortiz said there is a lot to exchange about between Cuban and American educational and scientific institutions.

One of the topics she mentioned was climate change, which, she stressed, affected both countries and given the geographical location of the University of Auburn, in Alabama, there are issues that equally affect both regions.

The International Seminar of Agricultural and Livestock Breeding Health conclude today in Havana. Participants discussed several topics such as climate, change, biologic control of plagues and diseases, among others.(ACN)
