Havana, Cuba.- The young artists of Cuba’s Contemporary Dance Company (DCCuba) will carry out a tour of several US cities throughout this month, where they will perform in places like the Sandler Center for the Performing Arts, of Norfolk, Virginia; the Joyce Theater, of New York; the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia; the Strand Theatre and the Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre, the two of them in Boston.

The troupe, directed by maestro Miguel Iglesias will dance from May 6th through the 27th, and will present choreographies like the memorable Sulkary, with over 30 years in its repertoire, as well as recent productions like Demo-N/Crazy by Catalonian Rafael Bonachela; Casi Casa, by Swede Mats Ek; Horizonte, by Cuba-American Pedro Ruiz, and Mambo 3XXI by George Cespedes, one of the pieces critics have sung the praises of over the last five years, and the one with which DCCuba was nominated for the United Kingdom’s Olivier awards in their 2011 edition.

As it tours through the US cities, the company will also hold various exchanges, by way of keynote lectures and visits to educational and cultural institutions, among others.
