2011.04.29 - 19:09:01 / radiorebelde.icrt.cu. Havana, Cuba.- Starting on Sunday through May 8, the annual "La Huella de España" Festival which highlights the influence of Spanish culture and traditions in the Cuban people will be dedicated to the region of Castile and Leon.

The Festival is presided over as traditionally by Cuban Ballerina Assoluta Alicia Alonso.

As usually, the canon shooting ceremony followed by the anthems of Cuba and Spain will mark the opening of the event which will be inaugurated in a gala at the Great Theater of Havana.

The gala includes performances of Spanish singer Maria Salgado; the Spanish Ballet of Cuba; the Tradiberica band from Valladolid and it will be attended by the Group Castilian Societies and the Cuban Federation of Spanish Societies, according to a report by Granma newspaper.

The Festival’s program includes performances by the Cuban National Ballet and the Spanish Ballet of Cuba, poetry recitals, concerts, photograph exhibitions, film screenings, among other activities.

The Federation of Spanish Societies organized at the National Lyric Theater Cuban and Spanish zarzuela performances on May 3, 4 and 5.(ACN)
