India is seeking more support for athletic programs as well as broader medical cooperation for physiotherapy, anti-doping controls and nutrition, Sports Minister Ajay Maken said during a meeting with the Cuban ambassador in New Delhi, according to Prensa Latina.
Cuba is providing sports and medical programs for India since 2007.
Cuban coaches and trainers sent to India have contributed to an increase in medals for Indian high-performance athletes, Maken said. Also, more than 100 Indian athletes and trainers are currently visiting Cuba to absolve training programs.
