HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 27 (acn) Orlando Bosch, the man who along Luis Posada Carriles masterminded the 1976 terrorist bombing in mid air of a Cubana jetliner that claimed 73 innocents lives, died today in Miami, according to a communiqué released on behalf of his relatives by the local El Nuevo Herald daily.

Luis A Chirino. Bosch died from a “long and painful disease” which was not detailed in the communiqué. He was 84 years old.

Recently CIA and FBI declassified documents prove the participation of Posada Carriles and Orlando Bosch in the bombing of the civil airplane off the coasts of Barbados in 1976. A report from 1979 contains the opinion of Bosch about the terrorist action as he expressed that “there are occasions in which you cannot help damaging innocent people.” An FBI report dated October 14, 1976, recalls the words of Luis Posada Carriles that “Orlando knew all the details” about the plane that would be bombed (Intelligence Information Cable).

In an autobiography published last September, Bosch included a chapter about the attack on the Cuban plane in which he categorically asserts that he “had no responsibility in that sabotage.” But in a phone interview in July 2005, just two months after Posada was arrested in Miami, Bosh told The Miami Herald that the truth about the bombing of the Cubana airliner would be revealed in a tape and documents to be published after his death.
