2011.04.20 - 13:41:33 / radiorebelde.icrt.cu. HAVANA, CUBA.- The Executive Director of the International Federation of Arts Councils and Culture Agencies (IFACCA), Sarah Gadner, expressed her satisfaction with the positive results of the 30th meeting of this organization, which came to an end on Tuesday in Havana.

Gadner said that the event, held for the first time in Cuba, at the National Hotel, was very interesting and productive, particularly because of the cultural program prepared by the hosts.

During the event, they had the opportunity to exchange with the participants in the International Meeting of Ballet Academies, and they visited the Casa de las Americas cultural center in Havana and the workshop of ceramist Jose Fuster in the community of Jaimanitas.

IFACCA’s mission is to create an international tool and a space for those in charge of supporting excellence and diversity in artistic initiatives. In this sense, the organization aims at boosting dynamic exchanges to share knowledge and promote understanding so as to enrich a diverse world from the cultural and artistic points of view.

Gadner noted that, despite differences in the cultural policies of the governments, problems in this sector are almost the same in many countries.

In this regard, she mentioned the challenges of globalization and the rapid development of technologies, artistic teaching, funding difficulties in these fields, and the search of new ways to find the funding.

IFACCA’s executive director also mentioned the arts’ important role in achieving social cohesion, world peace, and dialogue among different cultures.(ACN)
