2011.04.12 - 17:51:18 / radiorebelde.icrt.cu. HAVANA, Cuba. - The Cuban women’s wrestling team is training at the Cerro Pelado center, previous to its participation in the Pan American championship to be held in Rio Negro, Colombia, May 6-8.

Mexico 2010 Pan Am silver medallist and fifth in the Moscow World championships Katerine Vidiaux, 63 kilograms, leads the wrestlers that travel to Colombia to win a spot in the Guadalajara Pan Am Games.

Vidiaux is, according to the specialists, the one with greater chances to win a gold medal and qualify to Guadalajara.

The other team members are Aray Sanz (48), Maracaibo 2009 champion Yamilka del Valle (55), and Central American and the Caribbean champ Liseth Echevarría in the 72 kilogram division.

Head coach Rodolfo Alfonso told ACN news agency that this Colombian event is very important for them, since it will distribute eight places for the Pan Am Games.

All wrestlers are in excellent shape and their goal is to qualify, said Alfonso.(ACN)
