Cuba Requests Distribution of Document at the UN Regarding Posada CarrilesHAVANA, CUBA.- Cuba requested the United Nations on Monday the distribution as an official document of the top international organization of a denunciation by Havana against the acquittal of terrorist Luis Posada Carriles in judicial farce in the United States.

The request was made by the permanent mission of the Caribbean island to the secretary general of the organization based in New York, Ban Ki-moon, the Prensa Latina news agency reported.

The document underlines that, after three months of a judicial farce in Texas, the jury needed only three hours to find notorious terrorist Luis Posada Carriles not guilty, acquitted of laughable charges –it denounces- compared to the magnitude of his terrorist attacks.

The acquittal of Posada Carriles is an insult to the children without parents, widows and mothers crying for the trail of death left by that terrorist, reads the note by the Cuban mission at the UN.

The text holds that Washington is aware about the participation of Posada Carriles in the terrorist attack against the Cubana airliner and against hotel facilities in Havana.

The statement by the Cuban Foreign Ministry considers that the trial against the former CIA agent for migratory reasons and not for terrorism is an insult to the Cuban people and to the families in mourning for the actions of that confessed criminal.  ACN
