Harold Lopez Nussa (Photo: Cubadebate) Havana, Cuba.- Cuban pianist Harold Lopez Nussa won today in Paris the “Jazz Talent 2011” Prize granted by Adami, a society for the collective administration of performers’ rights considered a passport to the greatest European music festivals.

According to several international media outlets, the award will give Lopez Nussa the opportunity to perform in stages and theaters reserved for great Jazz stars in France and other European countries during the boreal summer.

The prize won the Cuban pianist (27) the right to participate in the Jazz Festival of Vienna, June 29; Juan les Pins Festival –south of France– July 23 and the Jazz festival of Paris in July 24.

Lopez Nussa will also play at the Jazz Festival of Montreux, Switzerland on August 10.

The pianist is currently in Paris where he played some of the songs included on the album El país de las Maravillas (Wonderland) at a jazz club of the French capital.

Lopez Nussa, who is also a composer, is working on the music for the film Fabula (Fable) by Cuban director Lester Hamlet.

Adami funds and awards annual prizes for performers in all fields of the arts: classical music, operatic music, jazz, film, radio/television and theatre, at the events and festivals that it partners, according to its website. (ACN)
