A former New York Times reporter who interviewed an anti-communist militant about planning 1997 bombings in Cuba has finished six days of testimony in the man's perjury trial.

By WILL WEISSERT. Associated Press. EL PASO, Texas —A former New York Times reporter who interviewed an anti-communist militant about planning 1997 bombings in Cuba has finished six days of testimony in the man's perjury trial.

But prosecutors did not rest their case Wednesday against ex-CIA agent Luis Posada Carriles as previously expected.

Ann Louise Bardach was the last scheduled witness for the prosecution. Attorneys for the U.S. government say they plan to call at least one more.

Bardach interviewed Posada in 1998 about masterminding bombings at Cuban tourist sites in 1997 that killed an Italian man.

Posada, 83, is a Cuba native who sneaked into the U.S. in 2005. He's charged with lying about planning the Cuba bombings during immigration hearings in El Paso.
