2011.03.22 / radiorebelde.HAVANA, CUBA.- To honor, honors, said Cuba’s National Hero Jose Marti. This statement was reasserted on Monday when Havana City Historian Eusebio Leal was given, for his outstanding work, the title of Emeritus Professor.

During the ceremony, held at the Main Lecture Hall of the University of Havana (UH), the guest of honor, a Professor with the Faculty of Philosophy and History, expressed his appreciation for what he called an undeserved acknowledgement.

Also on this occasion, the degree of Doctor of Sciences was given to 100 professionals -82 Cubans and 18 from Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Mozambique, among other nations.

Doctor Majela Ferrari, a professor with the Faculty of Law thanked all those who contributed to make this goal possible.

On behalf of the new foreign doctors, Mexican Cecilia Valdes expressed that this degree is not only a personal and professional result but also a commitment to society.

Found among Cubans are researchers of the ministries of Science, Technology and the Environment; Public Health; Culture; Justice; Planning and the Economy; Agriculture and of Higher Education, as well as of the National Sports Institute.(ACN)
