According to the website of the tournament, the Cuban Yuniesky Quesada –with the Barbera team– defeated host Orestes Rodríguez thus contributing to taking down the Barcelona CE team 8-2.

This way Quesada achieved his second victory in a row, accumulating 2.5 points out of four, and turned the loss of 2.6 ELO units into an increase of 0.4.

Cuban Aramis Alvarez and Sandro Pozo, with the Lleida Team, got one victory and a draw, but were unable to revert the 4.5-5.5 defeat handed by the Foment Team.

Alvarez also beat Ibearian Marcos Llaneza and increased its score to 29.9 ELO units, as a result of six victories in seven matches.

Pozo tied with local Alfonso Jerez, with more discrete numbers, winning 4.1 ELO points after beating three of five matches.

Cuban Omar Almeida, with the Sabadell, also got a tie with Mexican Jose Gonzalez, who plays for the UGA team. The UGA is leading among the 12 teams involved.

This was the first tie for Almeida, who after three successes and with 3.5 points has earned 11.1 ELO units.

Even though the general match ended 5-5, and both selections won five matches and drew two, the breakthrough by the UGA left the Sadadell team in the second position.

The tournament is already on the seventh round. (ACN)
